In these Terms, references to “Olive Oil Roots”, the “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our” refer to Olive Oil Roots I.K.E.
By accessing the website, creating an account, placing an order or purchasing a subscription, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.
Olive Oil Roots offers Greek premium extra virgin olive oil and annual subscription plans through which each customer is connected with a specific physical olive tree in our grove, bearing a personalised name tag chosen by the customer.
Our products and services are available to both individual consumers (B2C) and businesses or professionals (B2B).
Where these Terms refer specifically to rights granted under consumer protection law, those rights apply only to persons acting as consumers and not in the course of a trade, business or professional activity.
To place an order or start a subscription through the website, you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
By submitting an order, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate, complete and up to date.
Through Olive Oil Roots annual subscription plans, each active subscription is assigned to a specific physical olive tree.
Participation in the “Adopt a Tree” programme is symbolic and contractual in nature and does not constitute the sale of the olive tree, transfer of ownership, possession, property rights, rights over the land, or any other proprietary interest in the tree or grove.
The olive tree remains under the ownership and management of Olive Oil Roots and/or the lawful owners of the olive grove.
For as long as the relevant subscription remains active, the assigned tree is associated with the customer’s subscription and carries the personalised name tag selected by the customer, in accordance with the relevant subscription plan.
Olive Oil Roots offers different annual subscription plans.
Current prices, the exact features of each plan and any additional benefits are displayed on the relevant website page and during checkout.
If there is any discrepancy between older promotional or informational material and the information displayed at the time of purchase, the information presented to the customer when placing the relevant order will apply.
All subscriptions have a term of one year.
Unless cancelled before the next renewal date, subscriptions automatically renew for a further one-year period, and the applicable annual fee will be charged using the available payment method.
Olive Oil Roots will send the customer a reminder 10 days before the scheduled automatic renewal.
The renewal notice may include the amount of the upcoming charge and any relevant changes to the subscription price or applicable terms.
Customers are responsible for keeping their payment information valid and up to date.
If a renewal payment cannot be processed, the subscription may not be renewed or may expire, following appropriate notification where reasonably possible.
Customers may cancel the automatic renewal of their subscription at any time before the next renewal date through their account page.
Cancellation:
Cancellation of an active subscription does not create a right to a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the already paid annual period, without prejudice to any statutory withdrawal rights or other mandatory rights available under applicable law.
Cancelling automatic renewal and exercising a statutory right of withdrawal are separate processes.
Customers may choose the name or wording they would like to appear on the olive tree name tag, subject to any applicable technical limitations.
Olive Oil Roots reserves the right to reject or request the modification of content that is unlawful, abusive, offensive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful or infringes the rights of third parties.
In such cases, the customer will be asked to select alternative wording.
After the name tag has been produced or placed on the tree, the customer may request a change by contacting Olive Oil Roots. The possibility of making such a change will depend on the stage of the personalisation process and may be subject to an additional charge.
Any additional charge will be communicated to the customer in advance and will not be applied without the customer’s agreement.
Before completing a purchase, customers are able to review the main details of their order, including the selected plan, price, any shipping charges, delivery information and payment method.
The final action used to submit the order creates an obligation to pay.
After an order has been successfully submitted, an electronic confirmation will be sent to the email address provided by the customer.
Olive Oil Roots reserves the right to reject or cancel an order in circumstances including:
If payment has already been made for an order that Olive Oil Roots is unable to fulfil and subsequently cancels, the relevant amount will be refunded to the customer.
Prices displayed on the website include applicable VAT, unless otherwise stated due to the customer’s status or applicable tax rules.
All purchases and subscription payments through the website are processed in euros (EUR). The final amount payable in EUR will be displayed before the order is completed.
Shipping costs are included in the annual subscription price for deliveries to the destinations currently served by Olive Oil Roots. No separate standard shipping charge will be added to the subscription at checkout, unless expressly stated otherwise in relation to a specific service or exceptional delivery arrangement before the order is completed.
Available payment methods may include:
Payments are processed through third-party payment service providers. Olive Oil Roots does not store full payment card details where those details are submitted directly to the relevant payment provider.
For automatic subscription renewals, the customer authorises the recurring annual charge through the selected payment method until the subscription is cancelled.
A user account is required to manage a subscription.
Through the My Account area, customers may, depending on the available functionality, access information including:
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their account information remains accurate and for keeping their login credentials confidential.
If a customer suspects unauthorized access to their account, they should contact Olive Oil Roots immediately.
Customers may request deletion of their account. Account deletion does not necessarily result in the deletion of information that Olive Oil Roots is legally required to retain for tax, accounting, legal or other legitimate purposes.
Olive Oil Roots currently ships to Greece and countries within the European Union.
We currently do not ship outside the European Union.
The available carrier, shipping cost and estimated delivery time may vary depending on the destination and will be displayed or communicated during the ordering process.
Any stated delivery times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside the reasonable control of Olive Oil Roots, including carrier delays, extreme weather conditions, strikes or other exceptional events.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law in relation to delivery.
If a shipment is lost in transit, or if a product is delivered damaged, defective or different from the item ordered, the customer should contact Olive Oil Roots at:
info@oliveoilroots.com
For visible damage upon delivery, customers are encouraged to notify Olive Oil Roots within 48 hours of receipt and, where possible, provide photographs of the packaging and affected product.
This 48-hour period is intended to assist us in investigating the matter with the carrier and does not limit any mandatory legal rights available to the customer.
Where a product is delivered damaged, defective or different from the product ordered, Olive Oil Roots will, as its standard remedy, arrange a replacement or reshipment at no additional cost to the customer.
A refund is not offered as the standard remedy in these circumstances. However, this does not limit any right to a refund, price reduction or other remedy that the customer may have where required by mandatory applicable law, including where replacement is impossible or cannot be completed within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience.
Olive Oil Roots does not offer a voluntary return or change-of-mind return policy beyond the rights that customers are entitled to under applicable law. Returns are therefore accepted only where a statutory right of withdrawal or another mandatory consumer right applies, or where a product has been delivered damaged, defective or incorrect.
Consumers entering into distance contracts may have a statutory right of withdrawal under applicable consumer protection law.
As a general rule, an eligible consumer may withdraw from a qualifying distance contract within 14 days, without having to provide a reason.
For goods, the withdrawal period generally begins upon receipt of the goods. For service contracts, the period generally begins on the date the contract is concluded, in accordance with applicable law.
The right of withdrawal is subject to statutory exceptions. In particular, the right may not apply to:
In the case of Olive Oil Roots subscription plans, personalised elements such as the customer’s name tag and personalised adoption certificate may fall within the statutory exception for clearly personalised goods, where the relevant legal requirements are met.
The existence of personalised elements does not restrict any mandatory rights that a consumer may retain in relation to other eligible parts of the transaction.
To exercise a right of withdrawal, the consumer may send a clear statement to:
info@oliveoilroots.com
The direct cost of returning eligible goods following a standard withdrawal is borne by the consumer, unless Olive Oil Roots has agreed otherwise or applicable law provides otherwise.
This does not apply to products returned because they are defective, damaged or do not correspond to the order.
Where a refund is due under applicable law or these Terms, the refund will generally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
In the event of a valid statutory withdrawal, refunds will be processed in accordance with the time limits and conditions required by applicable law.
Where permitted by law, Olive Oil Roots may wait until the relevant goods have been returned, or until the customer provides evidence that the goods have been sent back, before completing the refund.
Further information regarding shipping, returns and refunds is available in our Shipping, Returns & Refund Policy.
Olive trees and olive oil production form part of a natural and agricultural process.
The appearance of the trees, olive grove, vegetation, fruit and harvest may change depending on the season and may be affected by weather conditions, natural events, plant diseases and other factors associated with agricultural production.
Photos and updates from the olive grove reflect the real agricultural process. Their content, frequency and appearance may therefore vary from one period to another.
If a particular olive tree is destroyed, becomes seriously diseased or is otherwise unsuitable for continued participation in the programme due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Olive Oil Roots, the Company may assign another olive tree to the subscription and notify the customer accordingly.
The name selected by the customer for the tree name tag may be visible in photographs or other material created within the olive grove.
Such material may be used in connection with the provision of the subscription services and, where permitted by applicable law, may appear on the Olive Oil Roots website or social media channels.
Where publication involves personal data and requires consent or another specific lawful basis, Olive Oil Roots will process and publish such information in accordance with applicable data protection law.
The publication of reviews, testimonials or other content that identifies a specific customer will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
Use of the website and our services involves the processing of certain personal data.
Information regarding the personal data we collect, the purposes of processing, recipients, retention periods and user rights is provided in our Privacy Policy.
The use of cookies and similar technologies is described in detail in our Cookie Policy.
These policies form part of the overall framework governing the use of the website.
Unless otherwise stated, all content made available through the website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, designs, trade names, videos and the overall presentation of the website, is owned by Olive Oil Roots or lawfully used by it.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, republish, commercially exploit or distribute website content without prior permission, unless such use is permitted by applicable law.
You agree not to use the website:
Olive Oil Roots may restrict or suspend access to an account in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, without affecting any rights available to the customer under applicable law.
We use reasonable efforts to keep the website and account functions available and secure.
However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability at all times. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical problems, software updates, third-party provider issues or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the liability of Olive Oil Roots where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Olive Oil Roots will not be liable for delays or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, provided that any mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Nothing in these Terms limits the customer’s statutory rights in relation to defective or non-conforming goods.
The operation of an olive grove, harvesting and distribution of natural products may be affected by events that cannot reasonably be predicted or controlled.
Such events may include, without limitation:
If such an event materially affects the fulfilment of an order or subscription, Olive Oil Roots will use reasonable efforts to notify the customer and provide an appropriate solution, without limiting any mandatory rights available under applicable law.
Olive Oil Roots may amend its subscription plans, prices or these Terms in response to operational, commercial, technical or legal changes.
New prices will not apply retroactively to a subscription period that has already been paid.
If the annual price of an active subscription changes, the new price will apply from the next renewal. The customer will be informed before the relevant renewal charge is made, allowing sufficient opportunity to cancel the upcoming renewal.
Material changes affecting active subscriptions will be communicated in an appropriate manner before taking effect, where required by applicable law.
The date of the latest version of these Terms is shown at the top of this page.

For consumers who reside in another Member State of the European Union, the choice of Greek law does not deprive the consumer of any protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which the consumer habitually resides.
For disputes involving consumers, jurisdiction will be determined in accordance with the mandatory rules of applicable Greek and European Union law.
For transactions between Olive Oil Roots and businesses or professionals, and to the extent permitted by law, the courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of Olive Oil Roots will have jurisdiction.
